This is the first book by Jill Vettel, but after reading it, I hope it will not be her last. It is not really my type of read, but it kept my interest from beginning to end. I thoroughly enjoyed it. WELL DONE!!
This book keeps you engaged and in suspense from the beginning to the end. It's a great book for women of all ages. It's empowering and has great lessons on choosing your own destiny, following your heart, friendship, and courage. One of my favorite lines was "Being afraid doesn't mean you weren't brave, Ember. Being brave means being afraid, but acting anyway." I recommend this book for all ages. It's always nice to be reminded that we are braver than we think and we can always change our path in life no matter what our age is.
Very well-written, endlessly enjoyable. A great debut by this first-time novelist. Get it while you can.
While I can't exactly relate directly to the girl-power aspect, the overall theme of finding one's own way and not being a passive observer in one's own life is well presented and food for thought for one and all.
